so, you've just begun on paean: after dawn, and you're not sure what to do? this is the thread for you! i hope you've already registered and whatnot-- clicking on the sign up button should get you through that quickly!


well, if you take a gander at what you would expect to be a boring old avatar at the side of my post, you should be able to hover and see a little more thorough information on the roleplayer/character.

that's a miniprofile, and it's pretty nifty! but how do you get yours to work? that's easy. first, go to the navigation bar and click profile. from there, give 'edit profile' a click, and then navigate to personal, and scroll to the bottom! 

you should see some extra text fields-- the majority of these should be URLs, and they're mostly self-explanatory! the four there that listed as roman numerals can be links to anything that you think suits you or your characters-- they're personal links!

when you have no 'hover image' there should be a placeholder with the text 200x300. helpfully enough, this is the size of the image you want to put there! you can crop an image, and link it on an external image host-- like imgur, or postimage, and then put that nifty little link into that text box! that's how you get things up and running.

however, if you've joined after the 26th of may, i'm happy to inform you that we do indeed have a new default theme, and with that comes a fresh new miniprofile! to ensure your posts aren't dry-looking, there's an alternate hover image-- the miniprofile background. the image size for that is 250x250 pixels!


by posting, you'll be issued with a set amount of paean's sweet currency, which is called stars. the more you post, the more stars you get! you can use this to buy cool custom colours for you and your characters' usernames, or unique traits for your characters-- or to buy and trade art with your fellow members!

once you have a decent amount of stars, you may open up the thread 'store items', and take a gander at what you want!

then follow the link within that to the transactions thread, list the item you want, the quantity, and its net price, and wait for a member of staff to notify you to transfer your stars to the treasurer-- a staff-only account made to facilitate the exchange of currency to stop any roundabout methods of making stars off unsuspecting members.


by being active around the site, posting regularly and with good quality writing! it's easy to become a hp if you're dedicated to paean and love the site and its members, and the staff would love to award anyone one if they're deserving-- without bias, of course.
