Paean is a semi-literate Warriors roleplaying site with an emphasis on depth of character and effective plotting, set in a new territory with the four original Clans. It was orignially created in September 2016, and has experienced many different iterations. Paean once featured three tribes-- who may or may not return-- and a whole lot of worldbuilding; it is our hope that its newest form delivers in terms of quality!
We offer a detailed history, frequent plots and plenty of character-- all at After Dawn hope to see you join!

JUNE 1-16 Nearly all HR spaces have been filled, although some may be reopened due to inactivity. Several roleplays have begun-- plot 001 is now getting into gear. The second moderator spot remains open, and Sonorous is now Paean's principal theme.

she/her/hers ♣ 17 moons old ♣ born 5th march 2017[break][break] child of npc x npc [ alive ] ♣ descendant of sedgewhisker [ canon character ] ♣ single[break][break] ambivalent diviner ♣ skilled healer ♣ tends to herb patch every 3 moonhighs -- high maintenance rank[break][break]
yarrowpatch is a stubby-legged white molly. though she's found a way to become much more comfortable in her rank, the traces of kittenhood still lay on her petite form; pat definitely hasn't quite matured yet. she has a silky ruff of fur about her neck that seamlessly blends into her chest-fur, and she has quite a few patches of fur that are textured a little smoother than the rest about her body.[break][break]
almost to add insult to injury, her squat frame is a little.. softer around the edges, and not because of immaturity. yarrow, much unlike most other windclan cats, is quite fat, though this doesn't hinder her mobility in any way. in fact, it only amplifies the look of smallness about her. she's still definitely an apprentice in body, no matter how much the clans try and deny this at gatherings. she has markings on the tip of her tail, the crook of her back, and the tips of her ears. these are more like dappled spots of browns and blacks, all intermingling, much like paint spattered off a toothbrush. she also has solid brown toes, and a large black spot on the back of her left haunch.[break][break]
she's particularly fastidious with her pelt, and it gleams whenever she's up to grooming it. (that means always; she's never been one for denying vanity. it isn't like it's a sin, of course.) yarrowpatch's eyes are rimmed with dark from some lack of sleep, though, and her near-constantly present smile wanes sometimes. she's bad at hiding the lesser things, and it shows.[break][break]
she's emotionally inarticulate, though. the molly hates being forced into 'little talks' that really aren't little; namely because she's unused to sharing her problems. this is especially obvious, considering the fact that she had nobody to vent to after her mentor's premature death-- no-one to tell about how she wasn't getting visions like how she was supposed to, how she could only gleam messages from the stars when her nose was shoved into a poppy pod, into a field of catmint, into the eyes of the abyss. yarrowpatch cannot see, and speak of the clan healers' mysticism especially irks her. [break][break]
as well as the fact that leaders will always have a connection to starclan that she won't. because of this, yarrowpatch has quite some dislike for the main authority figures of the clans-- her disdain for them comes out from a place of both jealousy and mistrust.[break][break]
in spite of her skewed moral compass, yarrowpatch has a perceived belief in honour, and fulfilling debts she owes. she rather hates becoming involved in these sorts of situations, but her parents' teachings have made it quite clear that she feels like she must repay the feline who she is indebted to. it's another reason why she's so angry at her late mentor-- he saved her life, and she can't repay him in turn. he's dead now, of course.[break][break]
aside from these failings, yarrowpatch is a true prodigy when it comes to forming rudimentary forms of divination to appease her leader and her fellow medicine cats. this could be seen as a talent for deception, but she sees it as reading what things can be from what is there-- and frankly, she thinks it's more efficient than any of the harebrained prophecies starclan seems to shit out on a monthly basis. yarrowpatch knows her weaknesses, and has what could perhaps be called the maturity to accept this, and work around it. it does make things more difficult, but that's just the way things are sometimes. [break] she does make use of poppy seeds, catmint and vervain root poultices to aid her in her 'prophetic sight', but some cleaner alternatives include reading from objects found in the fields, scrying in lakes, and relying on hearsay to come up with plausible stories as she sees fit.[break][break]
this skill for dramatics makes her quite the conversationalist, though she isn't quite a party animal. it does make for some neat tidbits with her clanmates and patients, and gives her at least some credibility as an "adult" she-cat.
