Paean is a semi-literate Warriors roleplaying site with an emphasis on depth of character and effective plotting, set in a new territory with the four original Clans. It was orignially created in September 2016, and has experienced many different iterations. Paean once featured three tribes-- who may or may not return-- and a whole lot of worldbuilding; it is our hope that its newest form delivers in terms of quality!
We offer a detailed history, frequent plots and plenty of character-- all at After Dawn hope to see you join!

" (Imma be the first one up here bruh, get on my level)
It was the first light of day and Weasel was already stirring from his sleep, twisting in his nest with quiet grumbles as he fought to keep those last few precious moments of sleep with him but to no avail. The tom, licking his lips, slowly opened his eyes to stare blankly ahead of him for a moment, letting all of his senses flood back to his body before slowly allowing himself to begin glancing around the den he was sleeping in. Sluggishly he sat up and looked down in his messy nest for a moment before casually picking out pieces of the moss and heather and other soft nest ingredients from his fur, promptly beginning to then lick his thick brown fur flat. Once he had gone through this rather slow process, Weasel stood up and exited the den and passed out into the clearing, flexing his claws into the dirt and immediately thinking about his plans for a day. Surely he would have a chance to help others today, a devilish smile curling onto his muzzle as he thought about all the sorts of debts he could collect from others. Ah yes, today would be a beautiful day indeed. Flicking the tip of his tail, he settled himself into a large patch of sunshine and awaited for others of the camp to come out of their dens. "

" White woke and stretched. He looked around, noticing movement in his clan. Today's the day to start something new.. he thought. He rose and yawned, a bit of a yowl coming from his maw. The Shio looked over, noticing Weasel. With a smile, he padded to him, his bi-colored eyes sparkling. "Hello, Weasel. How was your sleep?" he asked. The Shio loved to talk to his tribe members. Fernis was his home, and despite stress, and chaos, he's held strong to his leadership. "

" Night has been residing in the clearing for a while now, watching as everyone was "rising and shining" along with the warm liquid rays of sunlight that had been scattered through out the clearing. Night herself had been soaking up one of the rays, although it would occassionally disappear as a gust of wind sent the tree's into a mild frenzy. Eye's close and paws tucked underneath her body, Night listened to the gentle whisper of the wind and sounds of paw pads on the soft dirt. Fenris was truly lucky to have such a nice home. Opening her eyes slowly, her face contorted into a displeased look as Weasel passed by her. And... there goes any chance of today being good. Slowly rising to her paws, she averted her gaze from the tom and padded towards the fresh-kill pile, her tail flicking in annoyance. Nosing quickly through the scarce pile, she plucked a tiny but thick sparrow from the pile. We'll certainly have to go out on a hunting patrol, I'll tell White when I get through this. The Cle carried the sparrow back to the spot where she had been previously and began to tear into the prey, her mouth already watering at the thought of it. "

" White noticed Night and smiled. He walked over to her, and sat next to her. "Night. I see you started your breakfast." he said with a chuckle. "I hope you slept well. We have a busy day ahead of us." he said looking around. "I feel today would be a good day for hunting. Don;t you?" he said, winking at her. "Eat up. The sooner the better." he said before walking to the middle of the clearing. "

" Night's ear immediately swiveled White's direction as the Shio approached her. With a mouthful of sparrow, her head followed as she gazed up the tom, embarassment prickling at her pelt as she questioned her actions for a moment. Am I supposed to be dainty while I eat? Quickly swallowing, Night wiggled over, giving White room to settle next to her, "I slept well!" She nodded her head in agreement with the White. "I was about to tell you that the fresh-kill pile was getting low," she admitted. Watching as the Shio padded towards the center of camp, she inhaled the rest of the her food, burying the bones quickly before she leaped to her paws and followed after her mentor. Night greatly respected him, given he was the Shio, and she guessed she respected herself too since she would one day be the Shio as well.. Her tail flicked back and forth in contemplation as she fell into step side-by-side with White. "

" White smiled at her. "Well. Night, today you'll learn more about hunting, of course, and maybe even some about patients. Are you ready for today?" he asked. "
-- Moonfang
" "Patience?" The young cat tilted her head in confusion, almost offended by the statement. "I'm excellent at being patient!" She retorted, her ears slipping against the back of her skull as she continued to trot next to White. Night let a few moments of silence pass before she continued, "Sorry... Hunting and patience is fine." She offered an apologetic smile at White and dipped her head. It was silly of her to get so upset at him because of her training. It was only training... right? Although her future would dictate the how the rest of the clan survived and thrived. The thought made her anxious. Out of all the cats in the tribe she had been picked as the Cle. Would I even be able to it..? I wonder if its too late to turn back. She glanced up at White, "Hey.. White, is is hard being the Shio?" "
-- Duststorm
" White smiled back. When she asked about being Shio, he chuckled. "Second guessing huh? It's tough. Stressful. In all terms, no it's not easy. But it leads to this tribe thriving in all the best way possible. I have confidence in you, Night. You were chossen Cle for a reason. Keep that honor, and you'll see yourself blossom like this tribe." he said. "
-- Moonfang
" Night lowered her gaze to her paws and nodded hesitantly. White was always cheery and smiling for what seemed like a "stressful" position. Regardless, Night knew she could handle taking care of Fenris... but what if the other tribe's tried to come in and steal territory? What if she ended up making a bad call? The thought of her clanmates dying from her word scared her, but perhaps that was the responsibility that came with being Shio. Maybe I'll feel... enlightened eventually... Although all of this was going to be covered in her training anyway. They were on their way out of the camp clearing now to head to the training grounds. "Thank you, White!" False confidence was restored in the young cat as she raced out of camp. "

" (I'm totally late on this oops :>)
Ears perking up as he heard a slight yowl, the large brown cats head turned to look at the cat that uttered the sound, only to see that White, the Shio, was up and now walking about. Putting on a happy purr and smile, the shifty tom dipped his head politely to the tom. "Oh my sleep was wonderful, thank you for asking." He didn't bother questioning the tom because it appeared he had already gotten caught up with speaking to Night, so with a simple flick of his tail the large tom went back to carefully grooming his thick pelt, watching the clearing through his dark eyes.
